    Current Cholesterol Guidelines

The National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) has issued new guidelines for cholesterol management. The new guidelines were published in the May 26, 2001 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and are known as Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III). We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with these new guidelines for the evaluation and treatment of abnormal lipoprotein values. Adhering to these guidelines can significantly reduce your risk of developing vascular disease (Heart Attack, Stroke, etc.)...our Number One Killer.
